Firefighters vs Cancer’s founder to speak at Mar. 12 Milton Woman’s Club Meeting

A man and a woman stand indoors, both smiling warmly. The man sports a black polo with gray pants while the woman wears a dark dress, clutching a brown handbag. Perhaps they're discussing the exciting adult programming Milton Public Library announces for October 2023.

Free Cancer screening kits for Milton firefighters through Firefighters Vs. Cancer – March 12, 2025

Admission is free. Public welcome.

Through Firefighters Vs. Cancer, free early cancer screening kits by OneTest will be given to Milton firefighters.  Mike Foley is the founder of Firefighters Vs. Cancer, and a retired lieutenant of the Boston Fire Department. The goal is to heighten awareness of the high occupational cancer risks firefighters face and to help them with early detection. The Milton Fire Department will be its first drop shipment of free test kits.

Ret. Lt. Foley is the scheduled speaker for the Milton Woman’s Club meeting on Wednesday, March 12 at 12:30 p.m. at the Keys Community Room, lower level at the Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Avenue. The public is invited to learn about the efforts by Firefighters Vs. Cancer.  Free admission.

Suzette Martinez Standring is now the chief blogger of www.firefightersvscancer.org and organized a May 10 clean comedy show at Milton High School to help fund this effort, with thanks to early sponsors, The Milton Woman’s Club and to Milton Public Schools for providing the venue.
