Scholar Thomas Shapiro to give presentation at Courageous Conversations on February 11th

When and where will the discussion take place?

Courageous Conversations will take place on Sunday, February 11th, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Parkway United Methodist Church, located at 158 Blue Hills Parkway in Milton.

What will this upcoming discussion focus on?

A facilitated discussion on race, injustice, and the wealth gap in America. Discussion will feature a presentation by scholar Thomas Shapiro, wealth gap expert and author of Toxic Inequality: How America’s Wealth Gap Destroys Mobility, Deepens the Racial Divide, and Threatens Our Future. This event is part of a monthly series of dialogue-centered programs on racism and privilege designed to address racial healing and justice in our town. Now more than ever, we must engage in this critical work of recognizing and dismantling racism in our society. A potluck meal will be served and a Black History Month program for children and young adults will be provided.

Parking and Accessibility:

Parking is available in the small lot behind the church, along Blue Hills Parkway in front of the church, and in the Tucker Elementary lot across the street from Parkway. The program and potluck will be held on the second floor in Parkway’s Fellowship Hall which is accessible by stairs and elevator.
