Michael Dermody announces candidacy for Town Meeting Member for Precinct 8

My name is Michael Dermody and I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for re-election as Town Meeting Member in Precinct 8. Milton has been my home since 2019 thanks to my wife, Margaret (Driscoll) Dermody, who grew up here. Drawing upon a family tradition of Dermodys serving in town politics in my hometown of Needham, I was grateful to be elected as a Town Meeting Member back in 2021.

I have been proud to serve as a Precinct 8 Town Meeting Member for the last three years and am eager to continue serving my neighbors, family and friends. In these last three years, I have been present as Milton faces some often challenging but incredibly important discussions over its future. In my next term, I hope to continue to work for the best possible future for our town. I do not take the privilege of serving our town lightly, and I am excited to provide my insights and opinions into these conversations surrounding what should remain and what needs to change.

As one of the younger members of our town meeting electorate, I provide a unique perspective to the important issues our town faces. Because of my role as a Vice Principal at Catholic Memorial School, I know I have the leadership skills to help serve our town. I understand the importance of town policies and their impact on something like the education and the well-being of our young people. My wife and I recently welcomed our first child, Liam, into our lives and he has added an even deeper meaning to my sense of purpose and commitment to our community.

I am deeply passionate about our community and dedicated to its continued growth and prosperity.
