Representative Walter F. Timilty, recently, testified on behalf of House Bill 3170, “An Act exempting veterans from civil service exam fees”, which he has both proposed and filed. Representative Timilty, along with Representative Bruce J. Ayers and Representative Stephen L. DiNatale, offered this testimony before the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs, in front of an audience of Committee members, veterans, and members of the general public.

Commenting on his legislative proposal, Representative Timilty stated, “Today, I, along with Representative Bruce J. Ayers and Representative Stephen L. DiNatale had the privilege of testifying on behalf of my bill, House Bill 3170, “An Act exempting veterans from civil service exam fees”, before the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs: a committee of which I am a member. If both enacted by the State Legislature and signed into law by Governor Baker, HB 3170 will waive civil service exam fees for our distinguished veterans.

Moreover, this bill will, thankfully, and most deservedly so, provide the commonwealth of Massachusetts with an additional way in which to pay tribute to the citizens of the Commonwealth that have answered our nation’s most noble calling: to serve in the finest armed forces that the world has ever seen.”

From the Office of State Representative Walter F. Timilty
