Milton air traffic statistics for 2015

  • Almost 53,000 low flying jet arrivals flew over Milton in 2015.  About another 7,000 prop planes flew over Milton in 2015.  This is about 1 plane every 9 minutes of every hour of every day and night in 2015 (on average).  This does not include departures that fly over Milton.
  • For more than one-half the hours in September 2015 we had arrivals flying over Milton (7, 128 jets)
  • In June, Milton received over 52% of all jet arrivals (7,521 arrivals at about 2,000 feet).  This was 1 arrival every 6 minutes of every hour of every day and night in June.
  • Even though winds are from the NE at Logan about 18% of the time, when it is appropriate for safety reasons to use arrivals to Runways 4R and 4L, 33% of all jet arrivals used these runways in 2015.  This means Milton received almost double the number of arrivals it would receive if runway choice were only based on wind direction.
