Dear Milton friends and neighbors,
My name is John Hartz and I’m running for Town Meeting, Precinct 8.
I love Milton, and my family and I are deeply rooted in this town and connected with the people who live here. That’s why I’m excited to get involved with town politics for the first time.
My wife Deirdre (formerly Foy) and I have lived in Milton for more than ten years. Deirdre was born and raised here, and I was lucky enough to get introduced to Milton through her. I remember my first time visiting Milton, when we were still in college, and feeling like it was truly the best of both worlds – a beautiful town with the many advantages of being close to a major city. After living here for more than a decade, I’ve learned that Milton is all of that and much, much more.
Deirdre and I have two children, Jack (age 8) and Grace (age 5), both of whom attend Cunningham School. Like so many Milton parents, I’m involved with our kids’ many activities, and I’ve coached our son and daughter in soccer and baseball here in town.
I’m a partner at Sloane & Company, a public relations firm based in New York – I’m our Boston representative. I graduated from Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., and got my MBA at Northeastern University. In my profession, I’ve gained a great deal of experience analyzing and dealing with complex business and communications issues. I’m someone who enjoys negotiation and I really believe there are ways to find common ground on most topics.
Perhaps most important – it’s clear to me that our town is a special place. I want to contribute my skills, experience and energy to Milton and give back to a place that has given me and my family so much.
I would be thrilled and honored to represent Precinct 8 at Town Meeting. Please feel free to reach out anytime, and thank you very much for your consideration.
