A message from Milton Public Schools:

Graffiti depicting swastikas found at Pierce

Dear Staff, Parents and Guardians,

It saddens me to inform the Milton Public School community that graffiti depicting swastikas has been found at the Pierce Middle School.  I think it is important to inform our families and staff about this incident and assure each of you that we are thoroughly investigating.  Please read the attached letter written by Pierce Middle School Principal Dr. Karen Spaulding that was sent to the Pierce community (PDF).

We take these incidents extremely seriously and will work closely with the Milton Police Department and any other additional resources to ensure that we have taken every appropriate action to deter further occurrences of this type.

It must not be forgotten that one of our district’s Core Values is “Respect for Human Differences.”  We strive each and every day to promote a culture that is both safe and supportive to all of our students, staff and families and we will continue to do so.

If any of your children/our students would like to discuss this further or need some additional support, I encourage you as parents/guardians to reach out to your child’s principal or me.

Sincerely,

Mary C. Gormley, Superintendent
