Please keep Milton’s catch basins clear during storm today and tomorrow

The Town of Milton is expecting high winds and heavy rains starting on Sunday night into Monday morning. Our municipal storm drainage system is designed to handle such events, however at times catch basin covers and drainage inlets become covered by leaves and other debris. When this occurs storm water runoff into our drainage system may be slowed, or even blocked.

Residents are reminded to be aware of this occurring and are asked to please be proactive in keeping catch basins free and clear of any leaves or debris. A quick sweep with a broom or rake will easily clear off a catch basin and keep our drainage systems flowing properly.

Also, is you see that the drainage system is not working properly, storm water may be draining slowly or even backing up and puddling then there me be an issue below the surface and a storm pipe or catch basin itself may be filled with sediment and debris. If you feel that this has occurred please contact the Milton DPW asap, or use our convenient REPORT A PROBLEM link located on the front page of the Town of Milton Web site at www.townofmilton.org.

Thank You,
A message from the Milton DPW
