African drumming concert to be held at Milton Public Library in honor of Black History Month

During February, the Milton Public Library is celebrating both Black History Month and Random Acts of Kindness Day (February 17th), and there will be displays of materials related to these topics shown on the first floor of the library for all to enjoy.  There will also be an African drumming concert for all ages with the musician Mamadou.  He will bring his band to the Library for a family music show during school vacation week, on Thursday, February 22nd from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.  Mamadou blends the rhythms of West Africa with an endless variety of catchy melodies.  No registration is required for this event and it will be fun for all to check out the wide variety of drums this group brings with them.  For more details about the program, call the Childrens Department at 617-698-5757 x. 6 or check our website.

All of these programs are kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library and are free and open to the public.  They are held in the lower level Keys Community Room unless otherwise noted here and for more information, call Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at 617-698-5757, x. 3.  Please come and enjoy a library event in February.
