Select Board Meeting Update: Municipal Broadband – INet Feasibility Study

At the May 29th Select Board Meeting, the Milton Broadband Sub Committee assessed the design and cost requirements to replace the town INET with an updated, independent fiber optic network. The Committee reports that the updated network would add approximately $109,000 per month to operate new system.

This in addition to the Town’s current broadband budget and assumes the continued use of current personnel.

It was noted that this cost does not include potential savings, and therefore a cost study was requested by the Select Board. The cost study will be reviewed during the September board meeting.
