Hendries update: Construction to begin on Sept. 26 for new development at 131 Eliot Street

Construction on the new development at 131 Eliot Street (formerly Hendries ice cream) is set to get underway on Thursday September 26th.

This past week, Milton building inspector Joe Prondak met with the developer Steven Connelly & the general contractor, Stephen Higgins of Platinum Builders to go over the construction management plan.

The preliminary steps involve readying the site for the foundation pour and will transpire entirely within the existing footprint of the parcel, with little or no impact on traffic in and around the area.

Beginning Sept. 26, and and most likely running through Monday the contractor will be concentrated on the following:

  • creation of an construction entrance on Eliot Street
  • siting of equipment including a construction trailer on the Northwest corner
  • cleaning up the site
  • construction of a retention pond for any dewatering operations, and
  • preparing the site for a concrete pour in three to four weeks time.

Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
