Beth Molnar and Michael Munsey announce candidacy for Milton Town Meeting, Precinct 3

Candidate announcement for Beth Molnar, running for Town Meeting Member in Precinct 3. I am proud to share my candidacy to represent Precinct 3 as a Town Meeting Member. I have lived in Milton since 2005. My husband Michael Munsey is running for a seat too. We have a 14-year-old son who has been in the Milton Public Schools (Glover, Pierce) since kindergarten. I am a researcher and professor of public health/epidemiology at Northeastern University, where I study the impacts of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and other types of trauma on youth development and on the mental health of those who assist survivors, as well as ways to prevent these and other types of violence. I also serve on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC), where I was previously a volunteer for seven years and the Board President for five years. Running research projects, directing a thriving PhD program, and being a fiduciary board director for a nonprofit are relevant experiences I can bring to town government, in addition to being a Milton parent for 14 years, a resident for 17 years, and a volunteer across many political campaigns for 30 years. I would really appreciate your vote on April 26th. Many thanks.

Candidate announcement for Michael Munsey, running for Town Meeting Member in Precinct 3. I am also excited to be a candidate running for Town Meeting Member in Precinct 3. I have lived in Milton since 1999. My wife Beth Molnar is running for a seat as well. Our son has been a student in the Milton Public Schools since kindergarten, currently an 8th grader at Pierce Middle School. I do marketing in the software business, with a background in electrical engineering and computer science, working at the company Siemens. I volunteer as Director of the Tau Beta Pi alumni chapter for the Greater Boston Area and as a member of the Forbes Business Development Council. I am also a musician (jazz saxophone player) and have stayed involved as a volunteer with the music department of the high school I attended in Duxbury, MA, ever since I was a student there. I regularly serve as chaperone on their music trips to Orlando, New York City, Chicago and more; I serve as emcee for annual concerts and help with many other logistics. I bring this school volunteer work, my professional experience in marketing and business development, 23 years of being a Milton resident, 14 years of being a Milton parent, and more to the position of Town Meeting Member. I would appreciate your vote on April 26, 2022. Thank you.

We are each running for Town Meeting Member in Precinct 3 for many reasons, including:

  • We live in a neighborhood that has seen wonderful growth over the years we have been here (nearby Steel and Rye is a favorite!) We would like to be a part of the decisions that are made to keep this thoughtful growth happening in town.
  • We support the Milton Public Schools and all that they have done for our son – we would like to see the schools continue to improve and thrive. We believe this is good for all of us living in Milton, whether we have children in the schools or not.
  • Milton is a diverse and vibrant community – we support all the efforts to keep it that way. It will be an honor to work on initiatives that push for equality and inclusion for all residents, in all precincts.
