Milton High School to temporarily transition to full remote on Friday Nov. 13

In a letter addressed to Milton High School Parents on Nov. 12, Superintendent James Jette stated, “Due to the positive cases of COVID-19 of Milton High school students and the subsequent quarantine requirements of close contacts, we cannot safely keep the buildings open. We will make a decision over the weekend as to whether or not we can safely return to our Hybrid model on Monday, November 16, 2020.”

Superintendent Jette later went on to remind parents of the importance of their support of safety protocols during the pandemic: “No school can combat this situation alone. It is mandatory that parents/guardians are equal partners in this fight against COVID-19, and we need your help and unwavering support in reinforcing the CDC safety guidelines, at home and in school.

Parents had mixed responses in the Milton Neighbors group, ranging from full outrage to unwavering support of schools trying to teach in an unprecedented situation to reminders that huge numbers of kids congregating mask-less in Milton’s “woods” is probably not helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
