Milton Photographer Brian MacLean

Hi, I am Brian MacLean, father of two children in the Milton Public School system. I am a local Milton photographer who discovered my passion for photography 20 years ago after using my brothers camera(A Pentax K1000). I am self-taught and have explored many different methods in photography from books and seeking guidance from other local photographers as well as simple exploration of various techniques.

I enjoy shooting nature and landscape scenes. I try to capture the raw reality of nature, the fleeting beauty of those in-between moments, and try to do my very best to take every picture with that in mind. I want my viewers to relate to my photographs through recognition of and familiarity with the places, the emotions, and the energy as they are looking at a picture of a place that they may know.

I shoot the majority of my images with a Canon DSLR and a wide angle lens, however I believe that equipment is less important then the photographers vision and creativity.

The name “MadTy Photography” was created by taking parts of both of my children’s names who are very dear to me.

My work has routinely been used by the Friends of the Blue Hills and featured on NECN as well for numerous other commercial purposes. My images were displayed for the month of December at Radio Coffeehouse in Milton. Also, some of my work is currently on display at Santosha Yoga & Pilates at 60 Adams St in Milton.

Milton has rich history as well many beautiful sites that I enjoy capturing with my camera. I enjoy showing off the landscapes of the Blue Hills, Houghton’s Pond, the 19th century buildings and other sites of this diverse and unique town. Here are just few examples of what I enjoy about Milton:
