“But the noise doesn’t bother me” and “we live near the airport, what do you expect?” are frequent statements among residents on the Milton Neighbors Facebook group. Two big issues here are 1) this is new — and it’s due to NextGen satellite technology implemented by the FAA for efficiency and cost-savings and 2) it isn’t necessary. The burden of so much air traffic flying directly above Milton simply cannot be necessary. The traffic can be shared as it was before (see the before and after NextGen air traffic map).
