Temple Beth David of the South Shore Presents “The Investigation” Reader’s Theater Event
In observance of Tisha B’Av, a date on the Jewish calendar that commemorates the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem in ancient times, Temple Beth David of the South Shore in Canton, MA will host an online staged reading of The Investigation, followed by a discussion and short service, on Wednesday, July 29 at 7:00 p.m. This event is open to all, and people of all faiths are encouraged to attend.
Adapted from the 1963 Frankfurt Auschwitz War Crimes trials, the play explores a fundamental question about individual responsibility and culpability within complex systems and chains of command. The Investigation seeks to generate powerful dialogue across communities about the human capacity for evil, as well as the systems and hierarchies that create these conditions.
Temple Beth David is currently running all services and events online. Friday evening services are at 7:00 p.m. and are streamed on the Temple’s Facebook page. For more information on Temple Beth David of the South Shore, visit their website at templebethdavid.com or find them on Facebook.
