Milton Neighbor seeks help for rare illness
After more than six years of searching for answers, in 2020, Karrie Forgues (who is very active in Milton Neighbors, so much so, she used to be a group moderator!), finally got an explanation for the illness she has been fighting.
She has not one, but four very rare conditions:
Karrie needs two different major surgeries to prevent these diseases from progressing even further.
She is currently struggling to find specialists that are both willing to perform the complicated surgeries and abl eto take her MassHealth insurance.
Both surgeries are expected to cost over $100,000 and whether with or without insurance coverage, will provide a huge financial burden to Karrie and her family.
