Meeting to discuss the story we tell about race

On Tuesday, June 19th, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., the next Courageous Conversations meeting will be held at St. Michael’s Church, located at 112 Randolph Avenue in Milton. On June 19th, 1865 the Emancipation Proclamation was received in Texas, the last state of the union to acknowledge it.

This month we consider the story we tell about race by screening a portion of the PBS documentary “Race: The Power of an Illusion,” followed by small-group discussion and larger-group conversation about next steps.

We will discuss upcoming events oriented towards developing a greater literacy towards the system of racism in the US, and what each of us can do to live differently towards challenging and dismantling racism in the US.
