PILOT Committee charged with collaborating with local non-profits

The Milton PILOT Committee, formed to work with the town’s largest nonprofit organizations on issues affecting them and the town, met for the first time as a five-person body yesterday.

The PILOT Committee is comprised of Board of Selectman Chair David Burnes, Board of Assessors Chair James Henderson, Town Administrator Michael Dennehy and town residents Michael Zullas (69 Fairbanks Road) and Matthew Keswick (76 Buckingham Road).

The Committee’s first order of business was to officially seat Zullas and Keswick, the two residential representatives on the body, and review its mission.

Milton is home to several large nonprofit organizations, including Milton Academy, Curry College and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton.

“Milton is fortunate to have organizations such as Milton Academy, Curry College and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton, which enhance the quality of life for the community,” Selectman Chairman Burnes said. “We want to ensure that we continue to work in cooperation with them to solve town issues. Our PILOT Committee, comprised of residents and town officials, is designed to work with these organization to help determine the best ways in which they can contribute to our town.”
